Paris

I am exhausted. Ha. Today was great. I saw a lot and I've been blessed with good weather this entire trip. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a few more days.

I decided to walk to the sights today as opposed to taking to Metro or anything. You know, to soak up the atmosphere... Paris is big. Really, really, big. A lot bigger than it looks on my map. Ha. Luckily, a lot of the sights are close together (relatively).

I got an early start today because I wanted to go to the Louve and I figured that it would be the least crowded in the morning. I stopped for a Crepe, which was delicious, and ate it in the lawn area in front of the Louve.

My Crepe

The Pyramid in front of the Louve

The Louve is huge. You could probably spend a whole day there. I stayed for hours but probably only saw a fraction of the art. Here are some of the high points.

The Mona Lisa- It was hard to get a good picture because we weren't supposed to use a flash and she was behind glass. Plus, there were a ton of people there to see it.

Another cool thing is that they had artist there recreating paintings. I didn't see the no camera sign until after I took the picture... Word.

The Winged Victory of Samothrace- Possibly my favorite thing I saw

The Medievil Louve- This would be my other favorite

Inside the Louve

Also, on a side note, I like saying and using the word Louve- Sorry if it's copious. Louve.

It seems like everyone rides a motorcycle or a scooter here. And they have their own traffic laws. Traffic lights don't apply to them and occasionally they can use the sidewalk if they want to... even if you're on it.

Boats on the Seine

Me in front of the Eiffel Tower

The Arc De Triomphe

Heidi- I found a Pizza Hut. I laughed out loud when I saw it. Looks like they even deliver.

Totally jealous. I never thought Paris would be at the top of my "places to visit" list but seeing your pictures made it jump up into the top 5. Looks like the weather was beautiful but let's leave out the pictures and talk of food. I am trying to lose baby weight. :)

Paris is my favorite (theoretically speaking)! This post had me at eating a crepe on the lawn of the Louve...ahhhh. I am reminded that I love art history and am so glad that you are soaking it up!

Pizza Hut... PRICELESS! Thanks for making me entire day with that shout out. Also, I like the scooter situation you described - Paris may be the place for a challenged driver like myself to really shine. HA!
